About

Louis Weeks is an award-winning (Addy, Telly) composer and songwriter from the Baltimore / D.C. Area. His work has been featured on NPR, The Washington Post, Washington City Paper, and at the top of Bandcamp's Singer/Songwriter, Alternative, and Composer charts.

Louis's music mixes sharp and thoughtful lyrics with sweeping, lush acoustic and electronic arrangements. His songs juxtapose quiet reflection with bursts of ecstatic energy.

His new record, haha - which debuted in June of 2015 - showcases Louis's signature style of songwriting and lyricism, but introduces a new, heightened focus on acoustic arrangements. This focus is due, in large part, to the album's three new collaborators - Noah Berman (guitars), Ethan Helm (woodwinds), and Matt Honor (drums) - who created a dense and unique acoustic counterpart to the album's electronic soundscapes.

Critical Praise

"...the simply named haha is a great intelligent pop album, it plays with so many sounds and textures that it can't be pigeon-holed into a single comparison." - Brightest Young Things

"...one of this year's more expansive and experimental local rock records..." - Washington City Paper

"...like a Pynchon novel, set to music." - 88.5 WAMU, Bandwidth

"...it is seriously good. It’s pleasurable pop, innovative and creative and all those things you feel when the world is exactly as it should be. " - DC Music Download
